DisasterGIS is a group of academics, fire/EMS professionals, and emergency management specialists who came together in 2018 to provide pro-bono GIS and advising services to groups in need.

Working with researchers, volunteer agencies, and both government and non-governmental groups, we strive to provide resources, information, and tools to those in need and to those working to protect life, environment, and property.

I've created this page as a toolbox for those involved in mapping wildland fires and disasters to be able to quickly and easily locate the necessary data for their projects.

The main focus will be on open source/open data websites used by pyrogeographers and those involved in emergency management to analyze, track, and utilize remote sensing systems to create maps and other products in times of wildfires and other disasters in realtime and afterwards.

This is currently a work in progress, as it is being compiled from a never ending list of bookmarks, notes, and scribbles.
